Sailor of the ship ship
Sometime things seem a lot easier in my mind then they are in real life. This manicure for example. In theory cutting strips of tape and painting blue stripes on a white base coat sounded pretty simple. But in actuality it was much harder than I expected. With a little assistance from my brother (he cut the tape and placed it on my nails while I painted) I think it turned out all right, very nautical, which I love.
I started with 2 coats of China Glaze White On White, 1 coat probably would have been sufficient because this polish goes on smooth and covers well. Then I used a coat of SV and waited for it to dry. I don't have a lot of patience so this was no easy task. Then we placed the tape and I painted 1 coat of China Glaze Frostbite. I finished everything off with a coat of SV. My biggest issue is that my nails are all different lengths, and the tape was different sizes so it was hard to get even stripes.
I also feel like I should add that this paint job held up surprisingly well. I love China Glaze colors but I'm not particularly fond of the polish itself, it usually chips terribly for me. But I had this manicure for 2 nights of work and it stayed on for the most part, plus I got lots of compliments :)
